Elgato's new Cam Link 4K is ready to make streamers look crisp
Elgato'south original Cam Link offered up an interesting proposition for streamers: $130 to use your regular camera equally a loftier-end webcam to (hopefully) get a crisper epitome than a standard webcam could serve up. Now Elgato is spiffing things upwards with the Cam Link 4K, which, as the name suggests, allows you to broadcast 4K video from a uniform camera.
The pricing remains the same, coming in at $130 or €130, making information technology a no-brainer for anyone who was already considering the original Cam Link. For the coin, you'll get the power to stream 4K video at 30 frames per second, or 1080p video at 60 frames per second. The dongle also at present supports interlaced video, Elgato says.
The dongle itself is a pretty unproblematic device. Working with a USB 3.0 port on your PC, the stick takes a bespeak from your camera via HDMI. You may need a Micro HDMI to HDMI cable, depending on your camera's port selections, but they're fairly cheap to pick up.
You'll also desire to make sure your photographic camera is compatible with the Cam Link 4K. Fortunately, Elgato has a handy list of supported cameras.
